Arrangements

An arrangement is a saved set of nodes and wires that you can stamp onto any canvas. Use one for a team of agents you set up again and again, such as a lead, a builder and a reviewer with their notes. This page shows how to save, stamp and manage arrangements.

Figure: Save a canvas or a selection once. Stamp a fresh copy wherever you need it.

Save an arrangement

  1. To save part of the canvas, select those nodes first. To save the whole canvas, select nothing.
  2. Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and choose Save selection as arrangement… or Save canvas as arrangement….
  3. Type a name and press Enter. Esc cancels.

Cuewire says, for example, Saved arrangement “Review team” (3 nodes); stamp it from the arrangements panel or the palette.

An arrangement keeps:

  • the nodes, where they sit relative to each other, and how they look;
  • each agent’s settings, such as which agent runs and its role;
  • the wires between the saved nodes;
  • the text of its notes.

It leaves out agents’ sessions, unsent prompt drafts and the files notes are kept in. A stamped agent starts a fresh session.

The arrangement library

Press Ctrl+K and choose Show arrangements. The Arrangements panel opens on the right of the canvas. Each card shows a small picture of the arrangement, its name and how many nodes it has.

Figure: The arrangement library. Drag a card onto the canvas, or double-click it.

On each card:

  • Stamp adds a copy to the canvas.
  • Rename lets you type a new name. Press Enter to keep it.
  • Delete removes the arrangement.

After you rename or delete one, the bottom of the panel shows Undo. Click it to take the change back.

To close the panel, click Close, or choose Hide arrangements in the palette.

Stamp an arrangement

Use any of these:

  • Drag a card from the panel onto the canvas. The copy lands where you drop it.
  • Double-click a card, or click its Stamp button.
  • In the palette, choose Stamp arrangement · Review team.

Without a drop point, the copy goes in the middle of the view if there is room. Otherwise it goes to the right of everything on the canvas. Cuewire selects the copy and brings it into view. It says Stamped “Review team”.

Each stamp is a fresh copy. Agents get names that are not taken yet on the canvas. Press Ctrl+Z to take a stamp back in one step.

Tip

Stamp the same arrangement into a new layer’s canvas to give each task the same team. See Projects and layers.

Delete an arrangement

Click Delete on its card, or choose Delete arrangement · Review team in the palette. Deleting an arrangement doesn’t change what you already stamped.

Arrangements on your other computers

Your arrangements are files in Cuewire’s state folder, in arrangements. With settings sync on, they follow you to your other computers. See Settings sync.

Your team’s arrangements

In an organisation, admins can share arrangements with every member. A shared arrangement is marked team on its card, for example 3 nodes · team.

  • Members can stamp it, but not rename or delete it.
  • Admins see Share on their own cards and Stop sharing on the team’s. Members get a change within a minute.
  • A shared arrangement brings only safe settings. Agents start with default options and no agent account. Portals keep only web addresses.

Warning

The Cuewire service can read shared arrangements. Keep keys and secrets out of them, including out of their notes.
